Sanjib Acharya, one of the leading Bengali entrepreneurs and philanthropists, born on September 23, 1966 in Kolkata. After completion of his academic career in 1989, he was associated with various reputed labs in Kolkata. In 2000, he founded SERUM Group on and is the Chairman & Managing Director. SERUM Group became the single largest referral clinical laboratories of eastern India and one of the largest in India. He is the awardee of AsiaOne as the World's Greatest Leader 2015-16 (India Chapter) in the World's Greatest Brands & Leadership Summit, 2016 in UAE. SERUM Analysis had also been awarded with AsiaOne Award as the World's Greatest Brand 2015-16 (India Chapter) in the arena of Referral Diagnostic Laboratory.
He also founded the NGO, Serum Thalassemia Prevention Federation, to eradicate Thalassemia and AIDS from the society. This NGO has its objective to provide medical & social services towards the downtrodden people and he is the Honorary Secretary of this NGO.
He is the editor of monthly tabloid Sumadhyama for over a decade and also the editor of the Monthly Medical bulletin, SERUM Times. He is the President-Trustee of Jibanpur Vanaprastha Village Trust, an old age home located at Barrackpore. He is the Executive Committee member of East Bengal Club. Being a Rotarian and he is also associated with many other social service organisations.
